On the day of your test, please bring with you the following documents:-
Driving License (both parts if photo ID type), CBT Certificate, Theory Test Pass Certificate, photographic identity if old style license (passport, etc).

Prior to the day of your test we will have agreed the arrival time at Cheshire Motorcycle Training. This will give you approximately 45 minutes riding prior to arriving at the test centre. During the ride, which will settle down those butterflies, we will cover a Variety of Speeds, some U Turns, some Emergency Stops, and some General Junction Work.

We will arrive at the Test Centre about 10 minutes prior to the start of your test. You are bound to have some nerves on the day, but remember that you have been well trained and will be at test pass standard, we have the best pass rates in the UK. If you stay focused, listen to the examiners' instructions, and ride as you have been trained, then you will pass.

The Motorcycle Examiners are very fair and consistent in their judgement. They will fit you with one of their radios, which have a 4 mile range, and brief you regarding what they expect at the start of your test, prior to getting on the machine. Their briefing is as follows:-

My instructions will be brief and simple. For example, "take the next turning left". At all times follow the road ahead, unless traffic signs dictate otherwise, or I ask you to turn, and I will do this in plenty of time. Ride to speed, and overtake where it is safe to do so. Ride for yourself; if we get separated, at traffic lights for example, I may ask you to find somewhere suitable to park until I can re-join you.

As soon as you get outside the Test Centre, the Examiner will give you an eyesight test by asking you to read a car numberplate, and then tell you to get on your machine and wait for further instructions.

The test lasts for approximately 35 minutes. Everybody remarks at how their nerves disappeared as soon as they pulled away, and how quickly the test was over.

Remember...our training standards are higher than the rider skill level that an examiner is looking for, so do not give up because you think you may have made a mistake. Do not dwell on it as one mistake will lead to another.

At the end of your test the Examiner will ask you one question regarding the carrying of a pillion passenger. After this you will be given the result along with a debrief on your ride.
